There seemed to be an inner dilemma in the brunette as she hesitated to answer Xion’s question. Even a flicker of fear graced her features. Xion began to suspect it was a result of the trauma she had just endured in the forest, and immediately felt insensitive. Luckily, this was quickly dispelled with the wounded soldier’s question.

Titans? The word itself sounded so surreal, as if they were talking about storybook creatures.

“…No, not that I can say. Could you explain? —I-if you’re feeling okay, of course.”

Whatever they are, they must be scary if they can cause that kind of damage, strike this kind of fear.

Yep, definitely not from here. The confusion on the woman’s face was evident as Petra watches her bandage her leg. Of course she’s fearful of the titans; even if she’s fought against them for the last five years of her life, it doesn’t get any easier. Every time she’s faced against them, she’s reminded of the very real possibility that should die at any moment. That thought alone keeps her going, but it doesn’t go without its bumps.

So maybe she shouldn’t get herself injured.

“Titans are creatures,” she starts explaining, biting back a wince as the stranger wraps the bandage around her tightly to stop the bleeding.

“They’re tall, strong, and will stop at nothing to extinct the human race. I’ve lost too many comrades already… and have come close to death myself because of them.”
